Crows scrape in to KNT decider

One year on from losing the big dance to Penola, Keith has scraped into the 2022 Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association Grand Final after upstaging the minor premiers in a semi-final for the ages.

The Crows and Lucindale Roos went head-to-head for a spot in the decider and neither backed down in a stunning goal-for-goal contest.

Keith started strong with Erika Lamont and Danielle Vankalken capitalising on their opportunities to open a two-goal lead.

But the Roos hit back immediately to level the scores by half time thanks to the strong efforts of Ella Jones in the middle.

The back and forth battle continued in the third where Whitney Smith led the way, but with only two goals the lead anything was possible in the final quarter.

The pressure was on with Emillie Gould and Trudy Lane doing their best to reign in the Crows.

But eventually they just fell one goal short and the Roos now must take on Border Districts in this weekend’s preliminary final.

Borders got the better of Kybybolite in what was shaping up to be a competitive semi-final.

Both teams could not be split after a narrow first term, but Border Districts then made its move in the second quarter.

Lily Pfitzner and Emma Hausler were firing on all cylinders and a 20-7 quarter put their side in the driving seat.

Although Chelsea Bull and Gorgia Sealey did their best to cut down the deficit, it was to no avail as Border Districts won by 19 goals to stay alive in 2022.
