Cruise for a cause

Acruise with a cause will make its way through the Limestone Coast on Saturday, helping families doing it tough.

The Limestone Coast Toy Run, proudly hosted by Baptist Care SA and supported by Roundwood Solutions, collects donations to purchase gifts for families in need at Christmas.

The cavalcade of classic motorcycles and vehicles will complete a cross-region tour which will culminate with a free community event at the Mount Gambier Rail Lands.

About 300 vehicles are expected to take part in the main Toy Run parade, which will leave the old Bunnings site on Millicent Road at 12.30pm.

Participants will proceed to Commercial Street West through to the main corner before turning into Bay Road and the Rail Lands.

Some of those taking part will join the run after touring the Limestone Coast in the morning, travelling from Mount Gambier to Millicent onto Naracoorte and Penola before converging on Mount Gambier for the final run.

The Rail Lands event will include a Show ‘n’ Shine from noon, with an array of markets stalls and food vans, as well as talented young musician Gabriel Strachan entertaining the crowd.

The event will end around 3pm after the Show ‘n’ Shine trophies have been awarded.

Every dollar donated goes towards buying requested gifts due to the generous sponsorship of Roundwood Solutions which covers the running costs of putting on the event.
