Full Time / Day Shift. Based at Mount Gambier
OneFortyOne is a trans-Tasman business that owns and manages softwood plantation forests and operates sawmills in Australia and
New Zealand. We produce and distribute timber and forest products
across Australia, New Zealand and internationally.
We are seeking an Environment, Health, Safety and Risk (EHSR) expert
to join our growing Wood Products Operations team. This newly created role will work under the direction of both the Despatch, Inventory & Security Manager and the Wood Products EHSR Manager.
The Role:
Our team of EHSR Resources provide compliant, consistent and professional EHSR advice, products, and services to the Wood Products Australia Operations Team at the Jubilee Sawmill. EHSR Resources work as part of a site team providing, support to other EHSR Resources, departments, the site in general and the EHSR Manager.
You will also:
- Promote a safe and positive workplace culture in line with OneFortyOne’s values and purpose.
- Support the EHSR Manager to develop, coordinate and implement EHSR Programs to ensure EHSR management and strategic plans targets are set out and reached.
- Undertake hazard management identification, consultation, assessment, and control activities as determined systems requirements.
- Mentor, coach and engage, train and support our people to think, act and behave with EHSR principles at the forefront of all they do.
- Take an active role in identifying critical and emerging issues, hazard identification, incident investigations, verification audits and inspections.
- Assist with reviewing and updating EHSR data, systems and processes, including SOP, Isolation, injury and EHSR documentation.
Ideally you:
- Have relevant qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or reasonable experience working in a similar role
- Understand risk as it relates to environment and safety within businesses.
- Have the knowledge to put employee wellbeing and safety at the forefront of all your actions, acting with care and dedication to support EHSR management.
- Build collaborative relationships by communicating effectively
- Strong attention to detail, report writing and presentation skills
- Are organised with ability to analyse scope of tasks and projects, set and meet realistic deadlines
- Willingness to constantly learn, analyse and resolve problems
- Being a self starter you can work both autonomously and as part of a greater team
Although not essential, experience working in manufacturing or heavy industry environments will be highly regarded.
