More than 70 students officially graduated across a range of degrees at the UniSA Mount Gambier Campus graduation on Friday at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.
The most represented degree was the Bachelor of Nursing with 30 graduates however there were also graduates in degrees of accounting, midwifery, education (both primary and secondary) and social work.
The official proceedings began with the entrance of the Academic Procession, Council and Official Party to the stage preceded by the Australian National Anthem.
UniSA Chancellor The Honourable John Hill opened the ceremony followed by a Welcome to Country conducted by local Boandik Elder Aunty Michelle Jacquelin-Furr.
Guest speaker and EHM Advisory Director Liz Mckinnon delivered the Occasional Address.
The UniSA Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington AO addressed the ceremony and graduates received their certificates.
“This ceremony and this city inspire me and inspire all of us in so many different ways,” Professor Hughes-Warrington said.
“When you come to a community like this you realise over and over again these communities inspire all of us by the stories of the people who succeed who sit before us as graduates.
“Having a community that supports you and believes in innovation and inspiration as this community does makes all the difference.”
