Final spot on line

Blue Lake v International

Blue Lake and International will battle it out for the remaining spot in the 2023 Barry Maney Group Limestone Coast Premier League grand final.

The two sides will face off for a chance to take on Apollo for the 2023 premiership with a tight contest expected.

The Rangers are the current reigning premiers and will give their all to go back to back, while International will be hungry for success as it looks to claim back its title from 2021.

But first the teams stand in each other’s way for a premier league grand final opportunity.

International won the first encounter between the two sides in round two, but since then Blue Lake has had the edge, winning in rounds seven and 12.

Jasmine White has been the star all season for Blue Lake and limiting her impact will be important for the team in black and blue.

For the Rangers Evany Rex will be the target player to lock up, Rex has found the back of the net 17 times this season and is crucial in setting up the attack for International.

Captain Tess Andrews will also play an important role for International and will look to control the match through the midfield.

International has been on quite a run in recent weeks with four straight wins, the goal difference in those wins has been a highlight with both the attack and defence working well.

In the last four matches International has conceded just one goal while kicking 17 of its own.

The last loss for International however came at the hands of Blue Lake who will be hoping to bounce back from a loss to Apollo.

Both sides have a lot on the line on the weekend, with seasons hanging in the balance and potential of going back to back for Blue Lake.

With Apollo awaiting its opposition the matchup between International and Blue Lake promises an enthralling contest that will go right down to the wire.
