Five star festival vision

The magic of the Adelaide Fringe Festival is destined for Coonawarra, with all the fun and festivities set to hit town in February.

An Adelaide Fringe 2024 season grant, titled “Up and Running – Producer” has been awarded to co-producers Belinda Redman and Deb Redman, who will bring a vibrant three-day Fringe program to Coonawarra from February 16-18.

The pair will draw on Fringe experience, with Belinda Redman having many years of festival experience, after working as Adelaide Fringe deputy director for nine years.

Last year she produced two successful international shows at Adelaide Fringe.

Coonawarra local and Belinda’s cousin Deb Redman is working with businesses, wineries and groups locally to assist in bringing their exciting vision of a Coonawarra Fringe to life.

The duo is currently using the grant money to develop marketing material, posters and online assets so they can reach a large local, intra and interstate audience.

Belinda said the program was still in development phase but promised to bring five star acts to the inaugural Coonawarra Fringe, including some international work.

“It’s a great privilege to bring Adelaide Fringe to one of Australia’s most iconic wine regions,” she said.

“We plan to invite artists and wine lovers to Coonawarra in February to unleash themselves among the vines.

“We are already planning events in wineries and cellar doors and there are plans to incorporate the Coonawarra Walking Trail.

“There’s even a hint of an after-hours Fringe Club in a winery basement to dance the night away.”

A full program will be released in coming weeks.

This year’s grants have been made possible by donations to the Adelaide Fringe’s philanthropic arm, Arts Unlimited, along with the increased support received thanks to Arts South Australia from the State Government.
