Flag flown with pride

Grant District Council will be proudly flying the rainbow flag at its Mount Gambier offices to celebrate Feast Festival during Pridevember.

Feast is Adelaide’s only not-for-profit LGBTIQ+ Queer Arts and Cultural Festival that celebrates Pride and Diversity.

Feast began in 1997 providing a safe and inclusive platform for the LGBTIQ+ community to share and express themselves through art and culture.

Council committed to flying the rainbow flag annually during Feast Festival at its ordinary council meeting on July 5.

Mayor Richard Sage (pictured) said he hoped council’s annual participation in flying the rainbow flag would help Feast continue its important role of supporting LGBTIQ+ communities and promote inclusion across the district.

“We are proud to be flying the rainbow flag at the District Council of Grant to celebrate diversity across our community and provide support this important South Australian initiative, the Feast Festival,” he said.
