Footballers head north

For the first time this season Naracoorte will host round 5 of the Limestone Coast Women’s Football under 16s on Friday night.

Competition newcomers and current pacesetter Hatherleigh will kick off against the Kyby Tigers.

Hatherleigh has set the bar high already this season, forcing its opposition set up new game plans to counter their play.

The Eagles have some talented players right across the board and will look to Sebella Coghlan, Chloe Bellinger, Hannah Bellinger and Amber Chester to lead the way.

Hatherleigh will be fresh and ready to go after having the bye last round while the young Kyby side is continuing to develop and has been taking it right up to their opposition in recent weeks.

The Tigers will need to work harder than ever this Friday night to have any chance of winning against the competition leaders and will look to top performers in Chloe Copping, Zara East, Cleo Adams and Summer Batchelor.

If the weather holds off Hatherleigh should take the win, but rest assured Kyby will fight tooth and nail to get their first win of the season.

Tigers v Kongorong

This match sees third versus fifth however ladder positions are not an indication of the style of football they play.

The Tigers are ruthless with their height and strength while the Hawks are mid-range height but have some speed in the team.

Having played each other in round one the Tigers got the win by 30 points, but the Hawks had some new players in the side from last year and were still trying to find their groove.

This will be different come Friday night when they take the field under lights.

Kongorong will be looking to get the win through Evie Sealey, Jasmin McKinnon, Sophie Longbottom and Stevie Collins while North will rely on Luca Roulstone, Penny Coleman, Yenna Joyce and Heidi Berkin.

For the winner of this game, it will cement their place on the ladder and guarantee a finals place.
