Fuel station conditional approval granted

Conditional planning approval has been given to a new multi-million dollar petrol station and general retail outlet for Billygoat Corner at Millicent.

A planning application was lodged in May by the Adelaide-based Peregrine Corporation which operates the On The Run chain across South Australia.

The green light was recently given to it by the Southern Limestone Coast Regional Assessment Panel.

The company purchased an unmanned service station and block of shops from the local Croser family at Billygoat Corner in 2015 and the buildings have been vacant and derelict for the past seven years.

OTR already has 24/7 outlets in this region at Kingston, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte, Tailem Bend and Bordertown.

According to the 48-page planning application by On The Run for Billygoat Corner, the existing buildings will be demolished to make way for pumps, underground fuel tanks, signage, car parks, car wash, shop, toilets, office and store.

Much of the block will remain vacant.

The Peregrine Corporation has been approached for comment by The SE Voice.
