Fun run takes mark

Runners will be on their marks this Sunday for the OneFortyOne Blue Lake Fun Run, presented by Lakes Rotary.

The event has been cancelled in the past two years due to COVID restrictions, but is set to return with the addition of a half marathon this year.

The half marathon will be added to the already popular distances of 3.6, 6.8 and 10.4km events.

The Lakes and Craters Half Marathon will start at 7am, followed by the 10.4km Blue Lake/Warwar Run at 8am, 6.8km Mount Gambier/Berrin Run at 8.15am and the 3.2km Cave Gardens/Thugi Dash at 8.30am.

The event will be run on roads that will reopen at 11am, with any competitors on the course after that time required to transition to the footpath.

Half marathon participant must have completed the first 6.5km by 8am.

Runners can collect their bibs from the Mount Gambier Library on Saturday between noon and 4pm and also on the morning of run.
