Grand clash on the cards

Apollo and Millicent United are set to face off tonight under the lights at Apollo Football Club in a rescheduled Barry Maney Premier League women’s match from round 4.

Both sides had very different results last week and overall very different seasons as Apollo sits first on the ladder while Millicent is at the bottom.

Apollo had a big win at home over Centrals in an 8-1 result while Millicent lost 7-1 to Naracoorte.

After their matchup in round 4 was postponed this will be the first time these sides meet on the field since last year’s grand final.

Millicent has not had the most ideal season considering they are coming off a grand final appearance, while Apollo have looked just as good as last season as they are yet to lose a game.

Millicent on the other hand are still searching for their first win and look set to have a tough task slowing down Apollo’s firepower as they have shown this season they can put a lot of goals on the board.

Toni Ingley-Smith should be feeling pretty confident heading into this contest after having a five-goal performance last week.

Along with Ingley-Smith, Deni Maxwell has been in great form, while in goals Kyra Kuchel has been strong along with the whole backline as they have only conceded five goals this season.

This should be a very winnable game for Apollo tonight and they will definitely come away with the three points.
