Scheduling monthly afternoon sharing sessions at the South East Family History Group research centre in Millicent has proven to be a runaway success.
The daytime events are welcomed by the older members of the local community with more than 40 history buffs taking part at both the July and August sessions.
They focussed on the retail sector of Millicent and a new topic has been chosen for the September 12 session at 1.30pm.
“We are looking forward to hearing stories from the 1950s to 2000s about how we socialised and entertained ourselves without TV, computers, videos, DVDs and more,” a SEFHG spokesperson said.
“There were dances, concerts, picture theatres, drive-ins, sport, weddings, parties, 21st birthdays, kitchen teas, tin kettlings and more.
“All are welcome to share their stories.”
