Hockey stars strike up carnival selection

Two Lower South East hockey players have been selected to compete in the 2023 Hockey Australia U13 Carnival.

Monique Shepherd has been selected as a Lower South East representative in the South Australian girls team, while in the boys side Kade McCourt will represent the local league.

It’s an exciting opportunity for the two local players who will get to test their skills against some of the best young hockey players in the country.

It will be a chance to gain experience playing at a high level which could see them go far in the future.

The carnival will be held in Newcastle from September 23 and continues for a week.

All atches will be live-streamed on the Livehockey website, with further details such as the fixture is still to be announced in the near future.

Its will no doubt be an exciting wait for the two locals who will get to play some high quality hockey at the national competition.

Shepherd and McCourt will no doubt show off the talent that is available in the Lower South East Hockey Association, when they wear the state colours in September.
