Racing returns to the Allan Scott Glenburnie Racecourse this Sunday for the next edition of the monthly race meetings.
Belinda O’Loughlin will be hoping Loose Lip Lloyd can turn around a last-start Casterton failure on his home track at Mount Gambier on Sunday.
Loose Lip Lloyd has won three of his past five and scored consecutive wins at Mount Gambier before finishing down the track behind Magnetic Prince at Casterton last weekend.
He led throughout to win by 5.7 lengths in Class 2 company over the 1417m at Glenburnie Racecourse on May 18 before repeating that effort in front beating Star Jan over 1400m on May 29.
He began only fairly but was caught four wide throughout at Casterton on Sunday when beaten by nine lengths.
The stable also has nominated Muntham Missile who chased home Not Usual Glorious in last weekend’s Apsley Cup at Casterton while they have Fancied nominated at both Mount Gambier and Sunday’s Warrnambool meeting.
Loose Lip Lloyd will be the horse to look out for in the opening race of the day which is a Benchmark 68 Handicap held across 1323m with $10,625 lined up for the winner.
Final fields, nominations and start times were not available at the time of print, but fans will be able to enjoy a total of seven races this Sunday afternoon.
The most competitive race could the fifth event – the Benchmark 54 Handicap – with 18 nominations on the card.
With sunshine and showers forecast, it could be a race day for all seasons at Glenburnie.
