An open day at Millicent and District Hospital has been scheduled for March 10.


This is the Sunday of the Adelaide Cup Holiday long weekend.


The event is an initiative of the Millicent Health Advisory Council.


One of the anticipated highlights are tours of the upgraded student nurse accommodation in the former matron’s apartment.


The makeover is almost complete and only the bathroom/toilet requires upgrading.


The last Millicent Hospital Open Day was held in 2019 when hundreds walked through the grounds, wards and operating theatres.


There were stalls, entertainment and stunts involving celebrities such as Member for MacKillop Nick McBride.


The hospital has a workforce of 150 and many off-duty staff members were involved.
