Penola’s Div 1 netball side had a win over Kingston in round 4 of the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara competition.
The Eagles travelled to Kingston, with great conditions for the game.
The Div 1 girls were hungry for their first win of the year, and it showed on the court.
In a team affair the girls did not stop working until the final whistle, displaying what they are capable of.
The whole team deserved the awards, but Mia Gartner read the play like a book all game and Macey O’Brien fed the goalies beautifully and caused many turnovers.
Penola took the win 37-29.
In the B Grade match, the Eagles showed they are starting to settle into the season and finding their feet.
Penola’s goal for the game was simple, work as a team to build pressure down the court and back each other up.
In the first quarter the Eagles used full court intensity to put Kingston under pressure, finishing the stanza with a good lead.
Penola changed up the goal ring each quarter, however, the ever reliable goalies never missed.
Best players were Tayla Mckeon for accuracy and speed in the goal ring and Toneya Carrail for relentless pressure and multiple turnovers.
Penola won 66-34.
The A Grade side also had a good win, downing Kingston 68-44.
Hannah Klemm and Tegan Lythgo were best on court for the Eagles.
