Internationally recognised artist back in town

Acclaimed artist Sharon Davson returns to the Millicent Gallery with an exhibition opening at 6pm on Friday (March 31).

It will be showcasing her unique experiences and is titled “Davson Art with Others”.

Ms Davson is regarded as a world leading environmental and spiritual artist.

Her foundational themes of well-being, gratitude, and greater harmony for all, unfold as you view her multi-layered compositions.

Creative leadership means Ms Davson follows her passion to make a positive difference in our world, endorsing charitable ventures for world peace and endangered species.

Milicent Gallery manager Janice Nitschke said they were looking forward to welcoming Ms Davson back to Millicent and sharing her exhibition with the local community.

“It embraces co-creation with other artists and has inclusions from distinguished people such as Mr Tairiku Trshima, Baz Luhrmann and Cathy Freeman,” Ms Nitschke said.

“Sharon Davson has had a long relationship with the Millicent Gallery, stretching over 30 years.

“After first arriving in Millicent in 1981 she followed up with exhibitions in 1985 and 2010 – ‘The Davson – World Leaders’ and ‘Enlightenment’ and in 2012 she donated a collection of her works.”

Wattle Range Council Deputy Mayor Cr Peter Dunnicliff is opening the Davson Exhibition at 6pm on Friday.

“It is indeed a privilege for the Millicent Gallery to host such an acclaimed artist, who has had a long relationship with it,” Cr Dunnicliff said.

Davson Art with Others will remain at the Millicent Gallery throughout April.
