Ladies contest short course stableford

Aladies stableford event was played at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last week on the short course for the first time this season.

Thirty-six women played with many competing for the first time on the day sponsored by past president Mary Kentish.

Kate McCormick with 40 points was the winner in Division 1 followed closely by Heather Teakle on 39 points.

The Division 2 winner was Lyn Hudson on 38 points on a countback from Susan Ryan also on 38 points.

Following close behind were Leanne Hunt 37 points, Karen Panagopoulos and Yvonne Shirley on 36 points and Jan Shanahan 35 points.

The pro shot was won by Heather Teakle, who also claimed the nearest the pin A Grade, with Vicki Clarke winning the nearest the pin second shot for B Grade and Susan Ryan taking out C Grade.

The ladies again took to the greens yesterday for the fifth round of the monthly medal, handicap championship, putting and third round of the Winter Salver.
