Ladies contest Stableford round

Last week saw 40 ladies compete in a stableford round in excellent conditions at the Mount Gambier Golf Club.
Division 1 winner Andrea Peglar (19 handicap) scored 38 points ahead of Helen Gregory (16) on 36 points.

Division 2 winner Susan Ryan (34) continued her great current form with an impressive 40 points, her split 16/24.

New Wednesday Golf recruit, Indya Homes (37) scored a healthy 38 points from a split 17/21 and a lovely birdie on the 18th to top off a great round as runner up in Division Two.

Helen Gregory, true to form took out the pro-shot on the eighth hole and Andrea Peglar took the second shot for A Grade, while Helen Heaver took the honours for the B Grade.

Helen also scored a birdie on the 17th preceded by two massive shots to the green.
Lorraine Stratford scored the second shot for the C grade.

The Handicap Matchplay Championship continued with Mary Kentish defeating Helen Heaver 3 and 2, and Di O’Donnell defeating Bernie Jennings 2 and 1.

On Saturday 17 ladies competed in fine and sunny conditions for a par round.

Top place was taken by Helen Gregory with a plus 5 and Carol Smith came in second with a neat plus 3, with two magnificent birdies on the 3rd and the 8th hole.
