Ladies pennants heat up

The sixth round of all Lower South East Bowls Association pennants played earlier this month faced weather challenges.

Unfortunately, the Ladies Round 6 Pennants had to be cancelled due to the LSEBA heat policy, while the Saturday was a pleasant day for Open Pennants and Division 3 North had a bye.

Penola Division 1 Ladies were to host Mount Gambier RSL at Penola while the Division 2 Ladies were to play away at Robe.

The Division 2 Open Pennants played against Mount Gambier at Penola won 69 shots to 67.

The rink skippered by Roger Gibbs lost by three shots, 19-22, the rink skippered by Peter Thompson won by eight shots 26-18, and the rink skippered by Scott Degenhardt lost by three shots, 24-27.

It was a close game all day for all three rinks.

The Penola Division 2 team are still third on the ladder due to this close win.

The Division 3 South team played against Mount Gambier at Penola and won the clash by five shots, 75-70.

The team skippered by Peter Starick drew 24 shots each, Adrian Wicks’ rink won by nine shots 27-18, and Don Kilsby’s rink lost by four shots, 24-28.
