Ladies show how it is done

The Millicent Bowls Club held the Ladies Championship Fours event on Saturday with 20 players lining up to take part in the game.

The games, leading up to the big dance were played over 15 ends with the final two teams playing the grand final over 18 ends.

It came down to Lyn Scudds skippering third Ros Varcoe, second Carlene Godden and lead Judy Lowe.

They faced off against skipper macmacdonnell, third Robin Rolfe, second Lorraine Hyland and lead Joy Warren.

By the fifth end the macdonnell team had already made its stand was sitting at eight shots to one to the Scudds’ team.

However, Scudds launched a fight back and by the 12th end the scores were tied at 10 shots each.

It turned out to be a classic as both teams were neck and neck and by the final completion of the 18th end the game was tied at 14 shots each.

The unbelievable finish led to an extra end having to be played which came down to the final bowl.

With the title on the line the macdonnell team stood tall and won the trophy by one shot and what a game it was.
