FMG Engineering has been appointed by council officers to undertake a technical assessment and prepare aquatic engineering report with detailed scope for the required for the swimming lake upgrade.

A site survey was scheduled to commence last week and a geotechnical investigation team is expected to be will onsite on October 23.

According to the council staff report, this team will drill exploratory bore holes and find footing dimensions of the lake walls.

Significant leaks were found in the floor of the lake several months ago and council expects it is highly unlikely the lake will reopen for summer swimming.
