Lake rescue

Five people had to be rescued after becoming trapped in a lift at the Blue Lake Pumping Station on the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the John Watson Drive site just after noon on Saturday, after being alerted by a caller to 000.

An MFS spokesperson said the rescuers utilised the lift key to safely evacuate the lift after 10 minutes.

It is not known whether those trapped in the lift were workers or tourists visiting the Blue Lake.
