Latitude Recruitment answers call for help

Local businesses continue to show support for The SE Voice winter warmth campaign, with Latitude Recruitment generously donating $200 worth of Woolworths vouchers to ac.care.

Latitude Recruitment director Karen Bryant said her team was very happy to support their local community.

“It’s a part of our core values that we give back to the community, so it was really exciting when The SE Voice reached out to us,” Ms Bryant said.

“We really wanted to contribute because it was a really worthwhile cause and it’s been especially tough with rising costs of living and a really cold winter, so we’re hoping that we can help in some small way.

“It really means a lot to us as a business that we can be really socially responsible and give where we can, so that’s really what we’re passionate about.”

Ms Bryant said the whole Latitude Recruitment team were keen to jump on board to support ac.care.

“When Melissa (Prior) raised it with me I told my team about it and they said ‘yeah that’s fantastic, let’s support it’,” she said.

“We decided to donate vouchers because ac.care can give them to whoever they feel needs it.

“And it will hopefully give people the choice they can go and buy items they need so they can get to decide what they buy.

“ac.care do a lot of really great work for the community so we’re just hoping to support them because it’s been really tough with the costs of living and increased homelessness and things like that in the region.

“So hopefully it will go a really small way to help people in those circumstances.”

ac.care homelessness support worker Deanne Swift said receiving the gift cards was a “huge help” for people coming through their centre.

“Everyone’s finding it a bit hard at the moment financially so this helps out a lot of families,” Ms Swift said.
