League’s best to be crowned

Several names stand out when it comes to the Barry Maney Group Limestone Coast Premier League’s best and fairest medal count.

The men’s and women’s top players will be recognised this weekend at the count, with International’s Matthew Bueti at the summit of goal scorers with an impressive tally of 33 goals for the season.

His clinical finishing and ability to deliver in crucial moments could see him take home the award.

Sam Shoemark from Gambier Centrals finished with 29 goals to his name, with his lethal presence in the attacking third a key factor in his team’s success in the 2023 season.

Another from the black and blue is Samuel Bueti, who will also be in contention after a fantastic season.

A dynamic player with a knack for finding the net, Bueti kicked 23 goals this season and always looked dangerous when he was on the pitch.

Shar Nay Than of Blue Lake Soccer Club has emerged as a potent goal-scoring threat, amassing an impressive total of 22 goals.

He was a standout player for Blue Lake all season and was crucial to the Rangers playing finals.

Dan Allwright, another standout from International, has had a fantastic season, proving he is a smart player who controls the midfield and finished the season with a best on ground performance in the grand final.

His consistent performance on the field including 20 goals for the year makes him a real contender.

Gay Nay Say Ler could be Apollo’s chance to take the award, with his impact on the field and potential for game-changing moments making him a dark horse in the race for the best and fairest.

Centrals’ Cameron Saint completes the ensemble of formidable contenders after completing another solid season.

In the women’s vote Deni Atkin from Apollo is a front runner, kicking 20 goals for the season and leading the team to the minor premiership.

Her skilful play and scoring ability set the standard for her side, making her a strong contender for the individual honours.

Blue Lake Soccer Club’s Jasmine White is also in contention, having been a linchpin for her team.

With a knack for finding the back of the net and contributing to her team’s success with a 20 goal season and being dangerous from anywhere on the field, White is a formidable contender in the medal count.

International’s Evany Rex booted an impressive 17 goals, bringing a dynamic element to the competition.

Her excellent ball movement and ability to create chances makes her strong contender for a coveted spot in the medal count.

Lana Shepherd had a standout season for Millicent United Soccer Club.

Shepherd is a tenacious competitor with a consistent record of finding the net, kicking 16 goals this season.

As a dark horse in the competition, Shepherd is poised to challenge the frontrunners for a place on the podium.

Apollo’s Daylia Daylia has had a great season once again with a significant contribution to the team’s success and could surprise with votes.

International’s Tess Andrews will be in contention as always.

Andrews’ influence on the field and potential for game-changing moments was crucial for International to win the premiership and after a fantastic season she could be looking at yet another award.
