Libs hit out at report

The unprecedented activation of a Code White for three days at Mount Gambier Hospital last week has drawn a sharp response from the State Opposition.

Health Minister Chris Picton has blamed the maximum capacity of the hospital’s Emergency Department between Wednesday and Friday on COVID-related staff absences but Shadow Health Minister Ashton Hurn is not satisfied with the State Government’s response.

“Labor said they would fix ambulance ramping in South Australia, and it’s a key measure of their success as a government,” Ms Hurn said.

“It’s astounding that news of ambulance ramping seems to have turned off like a tap since the state election.

“Premier Peter Malinauskas has said that Labor would fix ambulance ramping and releasing daily data is his chance to be totally transparent with South Australians.”
