Lions clubs continue to serve communities

The Lions Club of Mount Gambier is one of the many Lions Clubs across the world that seek to honour the Lions standard of “We Serve” as member’s serve within their community.

The club featured is one of three Lions clubs within the city of Mount Gambier that conduct numerous activities seeking to advance the quality and enjoyment of life for people through organisations they assist.

Lions work across a wide range of activities within Mount Gambier engaged in undertakings that impact in numerous areas seeking to uplift life for Mount Gambier’s people and beyond.

This year the Mount Gambier Club members have responded readily to President Beccy Field with many initiatives including the introduction of the Lions Eye Health Screening in local schools where children have their sight assessed for potential problems.

This has resulted in many children being recommended for referral to an optometrist for further checks.

Next month the club’s changeover will welcome Lion Martin Vercoe as President to lead the club forward to even greater challenges ahead.
