Local agent raises roof

AMillicent-based real estate agent is the toast of the town after again winning a prestigious award at the annual Real Estate Institute of South Australia awards of excellence.

South East Real Estate and Property Management principal Fiona Telfer has come away with the “REISA Local Residential Salesperson – Regional” accolade for the second consecutive year.

The real estate awards were announced at a gala dinner at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

Looking on were her husband Stephen and the staff and their partners of her George Street business.

The judges took into account such criteria as sales achievements, service to clients, leadership and professional development.

Ms Telfer thanked those who have passed on their congratulations since the weekend as well as the loyal support of her seven staff members.

“This REISA award may say my name on it as the recipient, but to me it’s recognition of having brilliant and amazing staff at South East Property Sales and Management who go above and beyond in their roles,” Ms Telfer said.

“They embrace our community with such dedication and commitment to do more and be more to our clients,” Ms Telfer said.

“It fills me with pride to see what we have achieved together over the last six years.

“Being acknowledged from industry peers is lovely but I could not do it without this amazing team who make going to work every day so wonderful and rewarding.”

South East Property Sales and Management was founded by Ms Telfer in 2016 and it has witnessed a surge in the Millicent and district real estate market in recent years.

Ms Telfer regards the consecutive accolades as one of the highlights of her career in real estate which began 14 years ago.

In the past financial year, her company has again supported local groups, sporting clubs and charities through its Community Funnel.

Among the other initiatives have been sponsorship of this month’s COVID emergency services workers “Thank You” Picnic in Millicent and being a Foodbank collection point.

Ms Telfer is actively involved in volunteering her time with the local sporting clubs at Hatherleigh and stepped up in September to become the joint chairperson of the Millicent Business Community Association.

Under her leadership, South East Property Sales and Management purchased a Beachport agency in 2020 and regularly staffs a seaside office in Railway Terrace.

Her company bought a larger nearby property in George Street in Millicent last year and it was renovated to become the new base for South East Property and Management.
