Market ‘red hot’

The property market in the Mount Burr township is red hot with the asking price of houses now soaring well past the $400,000 mark.

A local agent has listed a post-war dwelling with a suggested price range of $399,000 to $429,000.

Erected in 1950, the timber-framed house has three bedrooms and one bathroom.

It is understood the timber house has previously been owned by various State Government agencies (Woods and Forests Department and Housing Trust).

Between the early 1930s and the late 1960s, all houses in Mount Burr were owned by the State Government and now only a handful remain in public ownership.
