Mayor flags road safety concerns

Moves are afoot to improve safety for motorists who use Clay Wells Road at Bray.

The road is a responsibility of the State Government and it is well-known to Robe Mayor Alison Nunan whose family farm is in that area.

“Landscape SA are working on how to bring all of the players regarding the management of roadside vegetation together so it is far easier to get action on trimming the scrub to provide better vision,” Mayor Nunan said.

“The Clay Wells Road is plagued with encroaching vegetation and it would be a great step forward if it were better managed.

“Despite it not being a Robe District Council-owned road, we get plenty of phone calls about the safety issues posed by the vegetation which we pass on to the Department of Transport and Infrastructure.”
