The Penola Wellness Group will host its next Mental Health Awareness Evening at the Brands Laira Cellar Door on Wednesday, November 24.

The event, titled unStuck, will provide valuable information and resources regarding mental health and intends to reduce the stigma of mental health and raise awareness of the topic.

The Penola Wellness Group is a small voluntary group which brings various mental health and wellbeing sessions to the community.

In August this year the Penola Wellness Group hosted an unStuck event for youth and families, which was a major success and attracted an audience of over 100 people. 

Some familiar faces will take to the stage to share their personal experiences with mental health and how they got ‘unstuck’ from these situations.

Journalist, event host and former Channel 7 News presenter Jessica Adamson will be the MC for the evening and will be joined by guest speakers Anne-Marie Williams, Graham Cornes, John Mannion and Dr Flip Oberholzer.

Ms Williams is an inaugural member of the Penola Wellness Group, Mr Cornes is an ex-AFL footballer and media personality, Mr Mannion is a South Australian Mental Health Commissioner and inaugural executive director of Breakthrough and Dr Flip Oberholzer is a Clinical Psychologist.

The evening will start at 6pm. Tickets are $25, which includes a light dinner and drinks will be available to purchase. UnStuck is sponsored by Casella Wines who own Brands Laira Wines in the Coonawarra.
