Milestone celebrations

At least three sporting milestones were celebrated across the Limestone Coast over  the weekend.

On Saturday, Kerryn Schmidt (pictured above) played her 100th game for Saints Netball Club.

Schmidt began her playing career in 2008 at Saints, where she has played in multiple premiership teams and coached a several junior teams.

“Well done Kerryn we are glad to have you back in 2021,” Saints Netball Club said.

Meanwhile, Tantanoola Netball Club’s A Grade co-coach Jami Walker (pictured below) hit the court on Saturday to play her 150th A Grade match.

Walker has played her whole career at Tantanoola Netball Club and in her time has been awarded two A Grade best and fairest awards, a best and fairest in the A Reserves in her first full year of seniors and best and fairest awards in the 13s and 15s.

She has also played in a 15 and Under and 17 and Under premiership.

In addition, Walker has represented Mid South Eastern Netball Association at multiple Country Championships in juniors and seniors.

Finally, James Varcoe celebrated his 150th game for the Tantanoola Football Club.

The club described Varcoe as a player you want in your forward line who has taken out leading goal kicker on multiple occasions.
