Mill to provide on-site vaccines

The 400 employees and contractors at the Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill are set to have on-site COVID vaccinations.

Company and SA Health spokespersons have both told The SE Voice the two parties are in discussions to this effect.

“We are continuing to discuss with KCA and other organisations about establishing an on-site mobile vaccination clinic and bringing the COVID-19 vaccine directly to employees in the workplace,” an SA Health spokesperson said.

The KCA Millicent Mill has long had an on-site health and wellbeing centre and this is being promoted in its latest round of press advertisements for staff.

The mill draws its workforce from across the region as far as Robe and is located within 10km of the boundary of the Grant District Council. This is the local government area which has Australia’s lowest vaccination take-up rate.

Just 9% of eligible Grant District Council residents have had the requisite two vaccinations.
