Museum melodrama casting call

Acasting call for the seventh annual “Murder in the Millicent Museum Melodrama” will soon take place.

Producer Chris Hollingsworth said all that are interested in being involved as cast members or guides are invited to a get-together at 5.30pm on January 17 at the SE Family History Room in Millicent.

“The plot will be revealed and already roles have been allocated to those who have expressed interest in being involved,” Ms Hollingsworth said.

“There is an opportunity for seven more cast members for the event on April 6.”

The sold-out shows have been staged at night at the Millicent National Trust Museum for almost a decade with the facility providing an ideal backdrop to the action.

Ms Hollingsworth brings together actors and behind-the-scenes personnel in a light-hearted performance based on an outline crafted by local author Chris Parmenter.

Organisers say the murder melodramas are not just about raising funds for the museum but also show off what it has to offer like the blacksmith’s shop, shipwreck room, steam locomotive and the horse-drawn carriages.
