Music lovers tune in for fundraiser

The first major fundraiser for the “revived” Millicent community radio station 5THE-FM will occur next month.

After an absence of around a decade, 5THE-FM is returning to the clubrooms of the Millicent United Soccer Club at McLaughlin Park on September 29 to again present a Spicks and Specks themed Quiz Night.

A station spokesperson said the pre-sale entry cost is only $10 and a charge of $15 will be made on the night.

“Test your mind and see if you and your friends have what it takes to be crowned music brainiac of the South East,” the spokesperson said.

“Hosted by local musician Jack Lane, this night will have your minds flying through the best of all decades of music.

“From old to new, pop to punk, rock to reggae, the bluesiest of blues to the jazziest of jazz and everything in between!

“This is not an ordinary quiz night.

“You’ll be learning there is a lot more to your favourite artists than what meets the eye, discovering music you have never heard before, and boogeying with your team to hits we all know and love, all the while raising money to support your live and local community radio station.

“See you there legends and let’s make it a night to remember!”

Table bookings can be made at the station.
