Aspecial ceremony took place on Australia Day in Penola as part of the celebrations.
The Cabarrubias family of Penola, Catherine, Andres, Kiana and Kenzo, from the Phillipines, and Penola’s Heather Lorney, became Australian citizens.
Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll officiated at the ceremony with all five conferees reading out two pledges, and they were then asked to face the audience so they could be officially made welcome as Australian citizens.
Mayor Noll presented each citizen with a gift and certificate.
