On-field battles commence

Round 4 of the Limestone Coast Womens Football League Under 16 competition will be played tomorrow night at Vansittart Park, with the first game to get under way at 6pm.

Tigers V Kybybolite

It will be the battle of the big cats as the league’s two Tiger teams clash, with North taking on Kybybolite.

Both teams are coming off losses last week and will want to get the win, but it will be the team that settles early and gets the momentum going that will steal the points.

North has some handy players in Luca Roulstone, Grace Altschwager and Eadie Mustart who are relied on to undertake a lot of the bullocking work around the ground and have support from Penny Coleman, Claire Mitchell and Stella Davies.

For Kybybolite the stand-outs so far this season have been Chloe Copping and Zara East, with strong support from Cleo Adams, Summer Batchelor and Stella O’Brien.

In the past three rounds the momentum has swung either way and this will be a good test for both sides, which will have run, carry and even the odd high mark or two.

Both coaches will be itching for action to get under way on Friday night under the big lights of Vansittart Park.

Demons V Hawks

Another strong contest is tipped between the Demons who got a win last week and the fresh legs of the Hawks who had the bye in round three.

It is the first time these sides have played each other and they match up well across the ground.

It looks set to be a game played with great intent and passion and will highlight the skills of Under 16 women’s football competition.

The Demons will look to Ella Guest, Bailey Broome, Jarrah Altschwager and Scarlett Creek to be focused on the task at hand and lead from the front, while the Hawks will need to be ready and fit and will look to Evie Sealey, Stevie Collins, Jasmin McKinnon and Sophie Longbottom to perform.

The weather forecast for this game may play a big part as both teams like to run and carry the ball, but if Mother Nature has her way it could be rough and tumble contest.

Ladder leaders and this year’s pacesetters Hatherleigh have the week off and will be fresh and firing come the next round.
