Petrol price hike

It has been around $10 cheaper to buy a 70-litre tank of petrol in Mount Gambier than in Millicent in recent days.

The pump price of unleaded fuel at the sole staffed outlet in Millicent jumped to 175.9 cents per litre last week.

This grade of petrol was selling for as low as

161.9 cents per litre in Mount Gambier at the same time.

This is the highest price in Millicent for several years and follows a steep rise in crude oil across the globe.

It was 151.9 cents per litre in August.

The petrol price in Millicent is usually in step with Mount Gambier but this city has many outlets and occasionally has “price wars”.
