Limestone Coast Police detected several traffic offences in the region on the weekend, with many of the offences identified as the “fatal five”.
A 59-year-old Nangwarry woman was detected travelling at 148kph in a 110kph zone on the Riddoch Highway and issued with an expiation notice for $1734.
A 22-year-old Lucindale man was detected exceeding the speed limit and tested positive for cannabis.
A 58-year-old Mount Gambier woman was detected with a blood alcohol reading of 0.132 and tested positive for cannabis.
She was reported and issued with six-month immediate loss of licence.
A 29-year-old Mount Gambier man was arrested for two counts of driving unlicensed and tested positive to amphetamines.
He was issued a further three-month loss of licence.
A 34-year-old Mount Gambier man tested positive for amphetamine and cannabis.
He was issued a three-month loss of licence.
A 37-year-old Naracoorte man was detected with a blood alcohol reading of 0.056 and will be summonsed to appear in court.
A SAPOL spokesperson issued a warning to motorists with the onset of winter.
“Police urge road users to drive safely, especially during the winter months when inclement weather is present across the Limestone Coast region,” the spokesperson said.
“Turn on your lights to see and be seen, obey all speed limits and drive to the conditions.”
