Police nab drivers

Limestone Coast Police were kept busy on the weekend detecting several traffic violations.

About 2.45am on Saturday a 32-year-old Mount Gambier man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.160 when pulled over on McArthur Street, Mount Gambier.

He was reported for drink driving and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.

His vehicle was impounded for 28 days and he will appear in court at a later date.

About 4.20am on Saturday a 32-year-old Mount Gambier woman was stopped by police on Wireless Road West, Mount Gambier.

She recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.161.

She was reported for drink driving and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.

Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days and she will appear in court at a later date.

Just after 5pm on Saturday, a 44-year-old Mount Gambier man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.079 when he was stopped on Crouch Street, Mount Gambier.

He was reported for drink driving and will appear in court at a later date.

About 9.20pm on Saturday, a 64-year-old Mount Burr man was stopped by police on Mount Burr Road, Millicent.

Police checks revealed the man’s driver’s licence was disqualified.

He was reported for driving disqualified and his vehicle was impounded.

He will appear in court at a later date.

Just before 1.30am on Sunday 6 August, a 38-year-old Mount Gambier man recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.097 on Yahl Road, Glenburnie.

He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
