The Ray White Mt Gambier Pooch Party will get tails wagging again this year on Sunday, April 16 at the Cave Gardens.
The doggy day out will raise funds for the Pink Paw Program and the South East Animal Welfare League.
Ray White Mt Gambier Principal Tahlia Gabrielli hoped the 2023 event would be even bigger and better.
“We received a really great response last year and we have got a lot more people wanting to jump on board and be involved with it as well,” Ms Gabrielli said.
“It is a really fun day; people just love their dogs.
“The reason why this all started was because we have got Winnie the office dog, and Ray White Group has the initiative of the Great Australian Backyard Pooch Party.
“They started that initiative, and we really resonated with it.”
The Pink Paw Program aims to educate dog owners about dog behaviour and safety, offering free dog training support to help dogs stay in their forever home.
Pink Paw Program founder Taylor Wheeler will attend the event again, who has travelled internationally to do training.
“Last year she did some training with children and dog owners, so dog obedience and behaviours, which was really great and informative,” Ms Gabrielli said.
“She is truly passionate.”
The South East Animal Welfare League is a not-for-profit organisation which provides temporary shelter for lost or abandoned animals across the region.
The shelter strives to find forever homes for the animals to give them a second chance of a safe and happy life.
Ms Gabrielli said the event was a day out for the entire family, a community event and great social outing for both owners and their pooches.
“The dogs are that connector, they invite easy communication, pets / dogs is a common interest many people have,” she said.
Ms Gabrielli encouraged people to attend the event because it offered something unique for the community and something that everyone can enjoy.
