Aburst of colour will flock to Beachport’s Pool of Siloam (Salt Lake) this Saturday for an iconic event.

More than 1000 ducks have landed on the waters of the lake in the past and the 22nd annual Beachport Duck Race is anticipated to attract even more.

The Beachport Lions Club with the Beachport Surf Lifesaving Club assist in running the event with use of a mock paddle-steamer, cooking the community barbecue and manning the finish line.

As in the past, before the main event, ducks can be purchased in the morning at a dedicated stall on Railway Terrace. Any unsold at the market will be available at the lake prior to the race.

The street will be closed to vehicular traffic in the morning while it is lined with stalls for the summer market day.

A fundraising initiative of the Beachport District Development Association, funds raised support various Beachport community projects.
