The former Millicent Railway Station is set to be sold by the State Government after being on the open market for over four years.
There is a contract for sale in place for the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport land that includes the 97-year-old stone building.
The settlement is proposed for March 3.
The sale is subject to a peppercorn lease with Millicent community radio station 5THE-FM which runs until 2031.
It has leased and upgraded the premises over the past three decades following the cessation of all rail services to Millicent in the early 1990s.
5THE-FM management committee chairman David Walshaw said the radio station was told by departmental officials of the impending sale last week.
“Our new management committee is continuing to meet each fortnight,” Mr Walshaw said.
“We are continuing to broadcast from the Millicent studios with a number of announcers via the livestream.
“Our immediate priorities are ongoing financial investigations and obligations, confirming our status as an incorporated body with the Office of Business and Consumer Affairs and securing a temporary broadcasting licence with the Australian Communication and Media Authority.”
