Region bushfire ready

Asuccessful bushfire information evening for women was held recently when 25 women attended from Penola, Coonawarra and other parts of the Limestone Coast.


The evening was presented by the Penola CFS and the Bendigo Bank Community Bank Penola & District.


Topics discussed included bushfire behaviour and warnings, property preparation, where to go and when and the importance of bushfire survival plans.


Also participating in the evening was Regional Volunteer Officer Damon Whitwell.


CFS Regional Community Engagement Officer Megan Hurrell said she was pleased with the attendance.


Ms Hurrell said several women expressed interest in participating in a firey workshop in 2024.


She also thanked the Penola Bendigo Bank branch for its sponsorship.
