There was plenty of sports talk when retired radio sports commentator Gorden “Milo” Milosevic celebrated his recent 70th birthday with a lunch at the Park Hotel in Mount Gambier.

It was attended by several of his buddies from work, sport and the media.

“They have all been a part of my journey,” Mr Milosevic said.

“It’s special that after so many years we can all reminisce our cherished memories as we age.

“There was also a gathering at home with my wife Helen, our two daughters, their partners and our three grandsons.”

His time in the radio industry spanned 32 years until 2022 and had always been with the one AM station on the 963 frequency.

Mr Milosevic presented the weekly Know-It-All’s Football and Netball Show each Saturday on 5SE and Triple M as well as other week-day local sports segments.

He also wrote about football for several seasons for The Border Watch newspaper.

Nowadays, he has the occasional guest appearance on local ABC Radio and provides some informal recruiting advice to the East Gambier Football Club.

Originally from Tailem Bend, Mr Milosevic moved to Mount Gambier in 1974 following a work transfer with a State Government department.

His successful footy career continued in the Western Border Football League in 189 games with the North Gambier, Penola and East Gambier clubs.

After turning his hand to coaching, Mr Milosevic found his niche in the media and has been awarded numerous industry accolades.
