There are hopes among locals the Rendelsham Community Hall is returned to “showroom condition” in time for its centenary in 2024.
The stone hall is one of six such facilities owned by Wattle Range Council and its day-to-day affairs are managed by an advisory committee comprising councillors, staff and community members.
According to the minutes of its latest committee meeting, there are numerous maintenance tasks which need attention in the coming two years.
The stage needs to be re-wired while the tiles in the entrance foyer contain asbestos and need to be replaced.
The door between the foyer and the hall also needs to be replaced while the stage side panels require repainting and covering with material.
There is water damage in the toilets and storage area while the louvre windows need replacing on the indoor and outdoor storage rooms.
