Renewable timber insight shared

UniSA Mount Gambier will host its next public lecture on March 11.

Professor Jeff Morrell, inaugural Director of the Forestry Centre of Excellence at UniSA Mount Gambier, will be presenting: Renewable Timber: Where does the Forestry Centre of Excellence fit in our region?

Prior to joining UniSA, Prof Morrell served as the Director of the National Centre for Timber Durability and Design Life at the University of the Sunshine Coast for five years and prior to that directed the wood protection program at Oregon State University for 35 years.

Timber is one of the few renewable building materials and the Green Triangle grows a lot of it.

South Australia also uses more timber per capita than the rest of Australia.

This talk will briefly discuss the positive attributes of timber and then talk about some of the exciting developments to create new timber products to meet growing demand for renewable building products.

Join for pre-lecture drinks from 6pm and the lecture will commence at 6.30pm.

Registrations are essential and can be made here.
