Every so often a legend is reborn, and in 2025 Volkswagen has re-imagined an iconic blast from the past with an all-electric take on an automotive classic.
There’s plenty of buzz generating around Barry Maney Volkswagen this week with the arrival of the manufacturers first 100% electric van which has already claimed some top honours including the Drive Car of The Year best family electric vehicle under $100,000.
Based on the iconic Kombi design, the ID.Buzz seamlessly blends expressive styling with innovative technology, and there’s even a host of colour options for those wanting to give their Buzz a touch of old-school styling!
The sun was beaming down on the stunning metallic Starlight Blue paintwork which got us chatting about the other colours in the range – which include classic Candy White, Bay Leaf Green, Mono Silver, Pomelo Yellow and Deep Black Pearl, while the iconic two tone variants are available in Bay Leaf Green, Pomelo Yellow, Deep Black Pearl and Medium Blue Metallic which are sure to be popular with buyers.

On the outside the ID.Buzz really speaks for itself, with the classic Kombi styling given a modern touch with LED lighting front and rear, black and alloy-turned ‘Tilburg’ 19-inch alloy wheels and available in both short and long wheelbase variants.
With the sun shining the photoshoot destination was an easy decision, and we set off to Port MacDonnell which provided an opportunity to put the ID.Buzz Pro BEV560 through it’s paces while turning heads the entire time.

Despite being a decent size and weight vehicle, the ID.Buzz has no issues zipping around town or tackling the open road with a maximum 210kW of electric power and a massive 560Nm of torque.
What was even more impressive was just how planted the van was at highway speeds, seemingly unfazed by the gusty cross winds the most southern part of the Riddoch Highway is known for.

There’s also the usual plethora of safety features to help with every journey including area view and rear view cameras, lane change side assist, rear traffic alert and exit warning, semi-automated driving assistance including lane keeping and emergency assists, swerve support and oncoming vehicle braking when turning as well as all the usual features.
Hopping inside the ID.Buzz things really get going! With the interior available with a standard black Palladioium-Soul trim or an optional X-Blue Mistral colourway – as pictured – which really looks the part.

There is also the option for Jade Green, Light Soul and full Mistral trim depending on your preference.
There is no shortage of storage or USB-C charge points inside the cabin, while a nifty removable ‘Buzz Box’ tucked neatly in the centre console area of the vehicle provides a huge amount of storage while being removable to allow easy access to the rear of the van.

There are also a number of optional enhancements available for the ID.Buzz including a heads up display with Harman Kardon sound system, premium interior upgrade package, a panoramic sunroof with smart glass – which after seeing it in action on the demo vehicle is an absolute must – 21-inch Bromberg Alloy Wheels and much, much more!
You can even spec-up your ID.Buzz with a number of accessories such as a bicycle tailgate carrier, roof racks or premium roof box.

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz really does put the fun in functionality thanks to clever use of interior space.
It does not matter if you’re loading up for a beach trip with the family or a group of friends or tackling the school drop off, the ID.Buzz will make every take easier and much more enjoyable!
