Rider charged over traffic offences

A motorcyclist is facing several traffic charges after riding an unregistered motorcycle in Millicent on Friday. At 2.30pm a Limestone Coast patrol spotted an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle being ridden on George Street, Millicent.

The rider was located a short time later on Sullivan Street after the bike had broken down. The rider ran from the scene and was arrested after a short foot chase. The 21-year-old man from Millicent was charged with several offences including riding while disqualified, riding an unregistered vehicle, riding without due care and resisting police.

The rider’s motorbike has been impounded for 28 days and he has been bailed to attend the Millicent Magistrates Court on July 9.
