Professional lobster fishers along the South East coast are currently receiving a beach (wholesale) price of around $56 per kilogram.

There are various grades of lobsters with the maximum price since the season opened on September 1 being $75.

The market nowadays is seeking larger lobsters but fishers at Port MacDonnell are being penalised as they chiefly catch the smaller lobsters.

One Adelaide retail fish outlet has a current rate of $80 per kilogram for freshly cooked lobsters.
